Gate of Sweet Nectar
February 20 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
On each New Moon of the month we chant the Gate of Sweet Nectar liturgy, calling out to all those who are feeling lost and left behind. We commit to bring our whole selves to all who are suffering in our world, including to those parts of ourselves that we think of as insufficient and lacking. We call this “feeding the the hungry ghosts.” In this ancient ceremony, modernized for our times, we offer them the awakened mind of love, wisdom, and transformation.
You can join the Gate of Sweet Nectar in-person at BLMZC or by Zoom. Please email us if you need the zoom link (the link is the same for all public dharma talks and ceremonies).
Calling out to hungry hearts,
Everywhere through endless time.
You who wander, you who thirst,
I offer you this bodhi mind.
Calling all you hungry spirits,
Everywhere through endless time,
Calling all your hungry hearts,
All the lost and left behind.
Gather ’round and share this meal,
Your joy and sorry, I make mine.
