Teaching on Bowing by Genzan Quennell

August 17, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Why are we bowing? Genzan Quennell Sensei will tell us more about the meaning of bowing in Zen.

On Monday August 17 Sensei Genzan Quennell will teach us more about bowing.

The teaching will be on zoom and starts at 7:00pm Eastern Time and will take 1.5 hours

Dogen Zenji once said: “As long as there is true bowing, the Buddha Way will not deteriorate.” If you have ever wished to better understood or enter more deeply into this practice, join us as we explore the why, when, where and how of bowing.

Genzan Quennell

A close dharma brother of Joshin Byrnes, Sensei (they received Tokudo and Transmission together), Genzan has been practicing zazen since 1991. He has taught meditation and buddhist practice in prisons, drug courts and recovery centers. Genzan currently resides in Kyoto, Japan where he hosts a weekly online study group called Tea with Dogen.
